Ep. 184 Nathan Semenyna – #SaveMaslow
- Nathan Semenyna - #SaveMaslow
The good news is that the Quik & Slow Comedy Show is going stronger than ever. The bad news. The ace of McQuik and MaSlow, Aaron Maslow, contracted Lyme Disease from a tick and is dead. Well, not exactly. He just lives in the exciting world of not Canada and also had a tick on him. What does this mean for the podcast? New host!
In this week’s episode of the show, Nick McQuik guides an entire cast of would-be interviewers through the grueling hell that is asking Nathan Semenyna a question. Nathan, as listeners may know from previous episodes, is an impossible person who derails natural conversation with his innate ability to be himself. Podcast regulars and previous guests will sit in and try commanding the wonkiest interviewer interview there ever was.
And what’s the prize for making it out of the gauntlet? The opportunity to hang out with Nick McQuik more often. Why anyone participated at all is unbelievable.
The attached audio is a mash up of all of the recruits doing their best. Join Nick McQuik, Jamee Nall and Sam Watterworth as Matt Labucki, Clare Belford, Hilton Patton, Neil Rhodes, Scott Belford, Brandi CK LaPerle, JP Fournier and Mark Robert McCue attempt to talk to Nathan Semenyna.
Follow the “annoying story arcs” as each host-to-be uncovers a little piece of Nathan and his comedy past. In addition to having cut his thumb on a mandolin, this cast finds Nathan is drunk, homophobic, angry and then sad as he realizes he has fallen out of favor with his pal, Scott Belford. Nathan talks about his impending suicide and even quits comedy to pursue a summer job in landscaping.
